After our client received a negative pre-application response from Buckinghamshire Council, Pyne Planning were instructed to prepare and submit an application for the replacement of a traditional, concrete-tiled roof of an existing dwelling to a fully integrated solar roof.
Despite the Council’s concerns that the proposed roof would be out-of-keeping with, and therefore detrimental to, the street scene, we successfully demonstrated how the proposed replacement roof, despite being unusually made with integrated solar technology, would not be detrimental to the appearance of the host dwelling or its surroundings.
The Nordic technology in this instance was capable of saving an equivalent of 3 tons of carbon dioxide per year, which we argued was a positive contribution to local and national carbon-reduction targets.
